Mike and Sharon Pearson purchased Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in December of 2009. Mike is a licensed funeral director and embalmer and has worked at the funeral home since 2001. In 2005, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from FINE Mortuary College in Massachusetts, and has served as a member of the adjunct faculty where he taught distance education courses to aspiring funeral service professionals throughout New England. Before becoming a funeral director, Mike was the resident and sales manager at The BALSAMS Grand Resort Hotel. Mike serves on the Colebrook Fire Department and is a deacon of the Monadnock Congregational Church. He is also a member of Evening Star Lodge #37, F. & A.M. and he serves on the board of trustees for the Colebrook cemeteries. He is also the President of the Board of Directors for the 45th Parallel Emergency Medical Service.

Sharon assists with many of the daily operations of the funeral home, while continuing her other professional roles in the community. She is the accompanist for the Colebrook schools and music director for the Monadnock Congregational Church.

The Pearsons have two children, Duncan and Lindsay.

The Jenkins Funeral Home has been serving local families of all faiths since 1945. It has always been family owned and operated, first by Ralph & Miriam Jenkins, then by Barry and Beverly Jenkins who sold the funeral home to Jeffrey and Wendy Jacoby in 2000. The Jacobys purchased the Newman Funeral Home in 2005 and changed the name to Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home. The Pearsons feel privileged to be able to continue this long-standing and local family tradition.
