Obituary:
COLEBROOK, NH -- Mrs. Thelma A. Edwards, 83, of Colebrook, NH, passed away early Friday morning, February 5, 2010, at the Coos County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown, NH, after a long period of failing health.

Mrs. Edwards was born in Stewartstown on May 9, 1926, a daughter to the late Ellis Hibbard and Carrie (Gardner) Hibbard.

She attended local schools and later married Ronald Edwards.

In addition to raising her family, Thelma worked many jobs in her life, including for many years at Tillotson Rubber Company in Dixville and cleaning houses for local residents. In her later years, she enjoyed working with her son, Dan, to stack the winter’s firewood, and she loved to help make each year’s batch of maple syrup. Her hobbies included her flower garden, knitting and crocheting, and she cherished her time spent with all her grandchildren.

Thelma is survived by four children, Harriet Ober and husband, Fred, of Essex Junction, Vt., Roy Edwards and wife Donna, of Wilson’s Mills, Me., Rhonda Francis of Chepachet, R.I., and Daniel Edwards and wife Nancy of Colebrook; two sisters, Winona Lynch of Stewartstown and Alethea Hibbard of Colebrook; a brother, Elwood Hibbard of Stewartstown; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; three great-great children; a very special aunt, Ethel Jones of Canaan, Vt.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, in 1967; an infant daughter, Debbie, in 1958; and three brothers, George, Frederick and Curtis Hibbard.

At her specific request, there are no calling hours. A private interment will occur at the family lot in the Colebrook Village Cemetery in the spring.
