Obituary:
PITTSBURG, NH -- Mrs. E. Christine Northcott, 96, of Pittsburg, NH, and wife of the late Rev. Oliver C. Northcott, passed away at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook on Friday evening, July 23, 2010.

She was born on February 1, 1914, in Ward’s Creek, New Brunswick, Canada, a daughter of the late Alexander and Ruth Elizabeth (Babb) Brighton. She was educated in Canada and trained to become a registered nurse.

In her life, Christine was an integral part of her husband’s ministries as an R.N. and partner. She loved nature, reading, music, history, and helping those less fortunate, and her family. In 2009, she was the recipient of the Boston Post gold cane for the Town of Pittsburg, NH.

She leaves behind her six children, Oliver Northcott and wife Vicki of Concord, NH, Daphne Gillispie of Merrimack, NH, Beverly Yates and husband, John, of Ridgway, Penn., Scott Northcott and wife Judy of North Walpole, NH, Alan Northcott and wife Jane of Concord, NH, and Mary Carroll and husband Sean of Sutton, NH; eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, The Rev. Oliver C. Northcott, in 2005, and seven brothers and sisters.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the Monadnock Congregational Church in Colebrook, NH, with The Rev. Rebecca Larson officiating.
