Aline T. Shallow

NORTH STRATFORD – Aline T. Shallow was a caring wife, mother, aunt, and Meme. She passed away after a short illness at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., on Friday, October 21st, 2022, at the age 70. She was born to Beatrice Marier (Bissonnette) and Roger Marier in West Stewartstown on January 22nd, 1952. After attending Stratford School, she met her husband, Richard, and together they had 3 beautiful children: Jenni, Brent, and Ryan. Aline was the world-renowned cook of whoopie pies, baked beans, English muffin bread, and peanut butter balls, and made her house the headquarters for bringing her loved ones together for holidays and birthdays. She cherished spending her time with family and friends, even if it was simply sharing coffee or tea. Her nightly routine included watching the Boston Red Sox, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune while eating cheese doodles or ice cream, or being an avid and vicious opponent in cribbage. If you were lucky enough to be her partner, there was no doubt you would be taking the win, and if you were even luckier, she would let you win in a solo match. She enjoyed her time waitressing at Claudette & Dean’s restaurant and would occasionally stop by for coffee to visit after she retired. She also spent time tending to her flowers and blueberry bushes around the house. Aline is survived by her brother, Frankie Marier of Stratford; 3 children, Jenni Hakey and her husband, Joseph, of North Stratford, Brent Shallow and his wife Crystal of Lancaster, and Ryan Shallow and his fiancée Melissa Topa of Stratford; 4 grandchildren, Meghan and Natalie Hakey, and Olivia and Brayden Shallow; several grand-animals, several nieces and nephews; and her friend and companion, George Bishop of Jefferson. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Shallow in 2001; her parents, Roger and Beatrice Marier; her sisters, Pauline Hurlburt and Cecile Canton; her brothers, Real and Marcel Marier; and her niece, Michelle Hurlburt. There are no public calling hours. A graveside interment service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. in the Fairview Cemetery on Old Mill Street in North Stratford.
