Billy J. Lesperance

COLUMBIA, NH — Mr. Billy J. Lesperance, 43, of Columbia, died late Tuesday morning, Sept. 18, 2012, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, after a courageous battle with cancer, and with members of his family by his side. He was born in Lancaster, NH, on Sept. 22, 1968. After attending local schools, Billy worked for many years at the Beecher Falls Division of Ethan Allen. He was an avid outdoors type of person who loved to go 4-wheeling, or to put his boat in the water and watch his nieces and nephews knee-boarding and tubing off the back of it. Billy loved to be around a campfire with his family and friends. When he couldn’t be outdoors, he enjoyed watching the History Channel and Animal Planet. His sense of humor and his jokes will be remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by his his mother, Linda (Dion) Staples and her companion Basil Emmons of Lebanon, Me.; his brothers and sisters, Darlene M. Howarth and her partner Neal Allen, Jr. of Bloomfield, Vt., George Lesperance and wife Crystal of Columbia, Jamie Lesperance and wife Lana of North Stratford, and Dianne LaRose of North Carolina; his half-brothers, Bryant Wheeler of Bloomfield and Ernest Wheeler of Hyde Park, Vt.; his step-brothers, Mike Staples of Las Vegas, Nev., and Devin Laskey of Berwick, Me.; his step-sisters, Tracy Bolduc and husband Todd of North Carolina, and Tracy Laskey of Rochester, NH; his partner, Kim Carter of Columbia and her granddaughter, Chloe Taylor; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a half-brother, Eddie Wheeler. Memorial calling hours will be on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook, NH. A graveside service will be held on Sat., Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. at the Stewartstown Hollow Cemetery with Pastor Cindy Grassi officiating.
