David Holbrook

ROCHESTER, NH – Mr. David Holbrook, 52, passed away on Monday afternoon, November 16, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Manhattan, New York, after a brief illness. He was born on May 25, 1957, in West Stewartstown, NH, a son of Nelson H. Holbrook, Jr., and Pauline (Bergeron) Holbrook. David graduated from Colebrook Academy in 1975. He attended the NH Technical Institute in Concord, attaining an Associate Degree in computer information systems in 1990. He worked previously as a computer support technician for the City of Manchester, and then for 18 years as a software engineer and support technician for Enterasys Networks in Rochester, NH, formerly known as Cabletron. His passions were motorcycles, music, his family, his friends, and his puppies. As one known for his generosity and who liked to fix things, David was also an organ donor, and his family encourages all to consider becoming the same. David is survived by his son, Jonathan Holbrook of Concord, NH; a sister, Mary Proulx of Manchester, NH; his partner of the last eight years, Kathy Haynes of Rochester, NH; her son, Jeremy Haynes of St. Albans, Vt., her daughter, Tieka Haynes of St. Albans, Vt.; a nephew, Corey Proulx; two nieces, Jenny and Nikki Proulx, and many, many close friends. David is predeceased by his parents and an infant sister, Marion Holbrook, in 1962. At the request of the family, there are no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Hall in Canaan, Vt., on Sunday, November 22, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. All friends and family are invited to attend.
