COLEBROOK, NH — Mr. David E. E. Howe, 41, of Colebrook, died tragically on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 21, 2013, at a result of injuries sustained in an ATV accident in Colebrook. He was born on April 28, 1972, in Sherbrooke, Québec, a son to Tony and Thelma (Stone) Howe. David was a 1990 graduate of Colebrook Academy. Since 1994, David owned and operated his own trucking company. In 2012, in addition to the trucking operation and family business, he decided on a career change and attended the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick, Ga.; and he was employed as a U.S. Customs & Border Protection Officer at the time of his passing. Family was the #1 thing in David’s life. He cherished his wife and daughters, and he was a mentor to many. Known for his special “way with words,” David enjoyed being a part of the life of his many friends, too, and his wish was always to be of help to someone. As a lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed coaching his daughters’ softball teams, and always attended games of all the sports they played. He also loved playing softball himself in the local men’s league in the summer where he was known for his ability to hit home runs. David will be remembered as a kind, loving son, husband, father, brother and uncle, and he will be always missed by all those who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Christa (Grandmaison) Howe of Colebrook; his parents, Tony & Thelma Howe of Colebrook; three daughters, Brittany Hurlbert and fiancé, Justin Washburn of Bethlehem, NH, and Savannah and Samantha Howe of Colebrook; a brother, Wayne Howe and wife Anna of Stewartstown; and a sister, Pamela Smith and husband, Jason of Colebrook. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. A graveside service will be held the next morning, Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. at the Colebrook Village Cemetery, with The Rev. Rose Howe and CBP Chaplain Christopher Buckles officiating.
