Earl G. Dewey Sr.

MORRISVILLE, VT – Earl G. Dewey, Sr., of Morrisville, Vt., and formerly of Colebrook, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, eight days shy of his 94th birthday. He was born in West Stewartstown on April 4, 1930, a son to the late George L. and Alice (Baldwin) Dewey. Earl grew up in Colebrook with his four sisters, Helen Hook, Eleanor Grant, Hazel Noyes, and younger sister Esther Dewey. Earl had a younger brother, Claude, who passed away in 1918 as an infant and who Earl never knew. Earl worked at The Balsams Grand Resort Resort in Dixville, for 24 years as a handyman, tending to the landscaping of the resort and golf course, and as a ski lift operator in the winter. Earl moved to Morrisville, Vt., about 27 years ago and met his companion, Beverly Skinner. They got to know each other over one of Bev’s amazing chicken dinners. Earl blended into Bev’s family seamlessly, and he enjoyed spending time with them all. Earl got out and tried new things with Bev, like long walks together, Earl’s first train ride, and playing Bingo. He enjoyed coloring, walking Lily the dog, and reading the newspaper. Earl never missed an afternoon full of favorite TV shows Let’s Make a Deal, Family Feud, Mom, and Judge Judy, along with Bev and Penny. Earl had a sweet tooth, and he enjoyed the bundt cakes he would get every week from the grocery store, strawberry ice cream, cookies, and, of course, he loved McDonald’s hamburgers and apple pies. He enjoyed getting family and friends to debate about anything happening worldwide. Earl will be missed for his generosity, kindness, tending to everyone around him, and his sense of humor. Earl leaves behind his nephew, Alden Noyes and family of Orange City, Fla., and several other nieces and nephews; and his beloved family in Morrisville: Beverly Skinner, Marilyn Davison and Chuck Gusha, Penny Davison and her dog Lily, Cecil Davison, Myron Davison and Tiffany and family. Earl also leaves behind all of his dear friends at Lamoille View Apartments. Earl was preceded in death by all of his siblings and a young son, Earl G. Dewey, Jr. There are no public services scheduled. Earl will be privately interred at the Colebrook Village Cemetery. Condolences may be offered on-line by going to www.jenkinsnewman.com.
