Emogene Hart

Emogene Katherine (Walling) Hart, 86 of Bloomfield, Vt., passed away on Saturday morning, June 27, 2026, peacefully at home with her daughter by her side. Emma, as she was known to her friends and family, was born on May 31,1940, at her current home in Bloomfield. Daughter of Winslow and Kathleen (Nason) Walling, she was the oldest of four children. She attended school in Bloomfield and Stratford, N.H. Over the years, Emma worked at many different manufacturing facilities, making friends at all of them. She married the late Alton B. Hart and lived in Gorham, N.H. for many years. She lived in Louisiana for a few years, then came home for the birth of her granddaughter. She lived in Lemington, Vt., with her daughter and granddaughter until they acquired the family home in Bloomfield. She had many hobbies and talents: bird watching, puzzles, word games, reading, playing cards, sewing, crocheting, knitting, drawing, wallpapering, renovations, furniture refinishing, fixing things and shared many of these interests with her daughter. Her spitfire personality and willingness to speak her mind endeared her to all who knew her. She is survived by her loving family -- daughter Rita L. Fournier of Bloomfield; granddaughter Ashley Evans and husband Desmond of N.H.; granddaughter Samantha Stebbins and husband Bill, great granddaughter Lita and great grandson Ezra of Tennessee; brother Kerry Walling of Bloomfield and his daughter Mallory Walling and partner Valarian of Vt.; brother Bernard Walling and wife Roseann of Bloomfield, and their children Laura Arthur and husband Dawson of AK, Scott Hartwell and family of NE, Eddie Hartwell and family of MA, Josh Hartwell and family of Arizona; nephew Lance Walling of Bloomfield and his children; Patrick Walling of N.H., Kyle Walling and wife Jessica of N.H.; nephew Tracy Walling and his wife Donna of Bloomfield and children; Moriah Watson and husband Josh and their daughters, Nason, Ainsley and Lennan of Vt.: Aysa Walling and her partner Chad and kids Charley and Grayson of Vt. and many, many lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Stewart Walling of Bloomfield, her son-in-law Daniel J. Fournier of Bloomfield, and her cousin Barbara C. Walling of Bloomfield.
