Ervena Dorman

PITTSBURG – Ervena (Vena) Dorman, 88, of Pittsburg, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, surrounded by her family, following several months of ill health. She was born on August 6, 1933, a daughter to the late Carmi and Marion (Day) Hicks. She attended the Pittsburg School and was a life-long resident of Pittsburg. She married the love of her life, Thomas Dorman Jr., in June of 1951 and together they raised five children. In her younger years, Vena worked as a housekeeper for many different camp owners. She worked at the Tillotson Rubber Factory in Dixville, and for a time, as a waitress. She later returned to housekeeping and was last employed by The Glen. Vena was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and her family was everything to her. She cherished every moment spent with them. She was an active and faithful member of the Farnham Memorial United Methodist Church in Pittsburg, and she enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family. Vena is survived by her sons, Wayne Dorman and his wife Beverly of Pittsburg, Wendell Dorman of Canaan, Vt., Winston Dorman and his wife Sherry of Londonderry, NH, and Walter Dorman and his wife Brenda of Pittsburg; and her daughter Wanda Patnaude and her husband Steve of Pittsburg. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Erica Welch and her husband Michael, Angela Dorman, Courtney Plamondon and her husband Corey, Mark Dorman and his wife Melissa, Stacy Dorman, Lance Dorman, Blaine Dorman and his wife Azaria, Emily Bernhardt and her husband Bill, and Brian Dorman and his wife Kim; and 11 great-grandchildren, Katharine and Jakob Welch, Austin and Dylan Plamondon, William and Conner Bernhardt, Cole and Arlyn Dorman, Jackson Dorman, Ava Dorman, and Thomas Dorman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Thomas Dorman Jr., in 2012; and five sisters, Bernardine Blanchard, Irene Harriman, Regena Rodrique, Mona Haynes and Verna Hicks Caron, as well as her daughter-in-law, Barbara Dorman. Calling hours will be on Monday, January 3, 2022, from 6 to 8 pm at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook, with face coverings requested and social distance protocols being observed. A graveside service will be held in the spring of 2022 at the Pittsburg Hollow Cemetery, of which future notice will be given.
