Irene Patterson

FRUITLAND PARK, FL -- Irene (Noyes) Patterson, 85, of Fruitland Park, Florida, formerly of Colebrook, New Hampshire, passed away Sunday morning, September 26, 2010, at The Villages Hospice House in The Villages, Florida. Irene was born July 19, 1925, in West Stewartstown, NH, a daughter of the late Ira and Bessie (Gould) Noyes. Irene was a graduate of Colebrook Academy, Class of 1944. Following graduation, she worked first as a waitress for the Colebrook House and then for the next 40 years as a waitress at Howard's Restaurant in Colebrook. She was an extremely hard worker and she loved visiting with her customers and many friends who would visit her on a daily basis. Following her retirement, she moved first to Arizona and then to Florida where she has resided for the past 23 yeras. Her many interests included shopping, taking walks, dancing, water aerobics, music and sharing her life with her many friends and family members. She will be remembered for her kindness and her incredible work ethic, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Irene is survived by her life partner, Roderick Carrey of Fruitland Park, FL; six children, Charles Patterson and wife, Elizabeth, of Lemington, VT, Patricia Young and husband, Richard, of Hatfield, MA, Sharon Covey and husband, Ernie, of Clarksville, NH, Mike Patterson and wife, Theresa of California, Ronald Patterson and wife, Amy, of Colebrook, and Craig Patterson and wife, Paula, of Greenville, NH; a brother, Wilfred "Fred" Noyes and wife, Elsie, of Columbia, NH; two sisters, Kathleen "Kitty" Richard of Clearwater, FL, and Betty Frizzell and husband, Buster, of Lemington, VT; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a dear friend, Pat Banfill of Clarksville, NH. She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and four sisters. At the family's request there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Monadnock Congregational Church with The Rev. Rebecca Larson officiating. An interment service will follow at the Colebrook Village Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Irene's memory may be made to the Susan G.
