Jared A. Kennett

COLEBROOK, NEW HAMPSHIRE – Mr. Jared A. Kennett, 23, of Pleasant Street, Colebrook, New Hampshire, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at the Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. Jared was born February 18, 1985, in Colebrook, the eldest son of Jules A. and Barbara A. (Dustin) Kennett. Jared was a graduate of Colebrook Academy, Class of 2003. He had a passion for playing hockey, not only for the Colebrook Police Athletic League, but also during his time at Lyndon State College. During high school, he worked at Subway in Colebrook and he also worked three summers at the Groveton Paper Board. More recently, he worked as the assistant manager for Hoagie’s Pizza and Pasta and as the head bouncer at the Packing House in Lyndonville, VT. He loved children or “littles”, and he enjoyed working with them at an after school program for a recreation department in Lyndonville. The love and attention that he gave to his brothers and sisters and to his many cousins demonstrated his pride as a big brother. He was a loving, thoughtful, and caring son who was truly the “rock” of the family. Jared was a typical young man who enjoyed listening to music and doing anything that involved having fun. He loved to go camping with his family and all the “littles” that came with having a large family. He also enjoyed swimming, boating and kayaking. Jared will be remembered by his family and limitless number of friends as an individual who loved life and who demonstrated his love by taking the time to make others feel special and that they mattered to him. Jared is survived by his parents, Jules A. and Barbara A. (Dustin) Kennett of Colebrook; seven brothers and sisters, Jacob A. Kennett, Joseph A. Kennett, Jenna A. Kennett, Jordan A. Kennett, Jessica A. Kennett, Jaydon A. Kennett and Jonah A. Kennett, all of Colebrook; his grandmother, Priscilla Dustin of Colebrook; his grandfather, Bernard Kennett of Stewartstown, NH; his aunts and uncles and all their “littles”, John Kennett and wife, Doris, of North Stratford, NH, James Kennett and wife, Sonia, of Tampa, FL, Jeffrey Kennett and wife, Lee, of Loudon, NH, Jerry Kennett and wife, Martha, of Brunswick, VT, Joel Kennett of Groveton, NH, Jody Sweatt, and husband, Stewart, of Milton, NH, Jay Kennett of Alaska, Jesse Kennett and wife, Bambie, of Stratford Hollow, NH, Joseph Kennett and wife, Min, of Groveton, NH, Daniel Dustin of Phoenix, AZ, Cynthia Kelley and husband, Dennis, of Colebrook, Diana Hutchinson and husband, James, of Colebrook, Jeffrey Dustin of Phoenix, AZ, Kathy Ratliff of Whitefield, NH, Debbie Dustin of Colebrook, and Darlene Fogg and husband, Jon, of Columbia, NH; the light that warmed his world and renewed his love for life, Emily DiFranco of St. Johnsbury, VT; and his many, many friends. Jared is preceded in death by his grandfather, John Dustin and his grandmother, Corinne Kennett. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2008, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, June 27th at 2:00 p.m. at the Monadnock Congregational Church in Colebrook with The Reverend Rebecca Larson officiating. An interment service will follow at the Colebrook Village Cemetery.
