Larry Hartlen

COLEBROOK – Larry Hartlen, 76, a beloved member of our community, passed away on June 25, 2023, at the age of 76. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of those around him. Born in 1946, Larry was raised in a small town where he developed his strong sense of community and dedication to service. Throughout his life, he touched the hearts of many through his selfless acts and unwavering support for those in need. He worked for many years in the Local 33 union in Boston in the construction industry, and for many years at Nash Equipment. Larry also worked at VR Concrete and did many side jobs. He helped many others with various issues. In his free time, Larry enjoyed the outdoors and the simple pleasures of life. He loved his cars and loved working on them. He often found solace in being with his family, friends, and the grandkids. He will be remembered for his infectious laughter, his warm smile, and his unwavering belief in the power of kindness. He touched the lives of many, and his absence will be deeply felt by friends, family, and the countless lives he touched throughout the years. Larry's spirit of compassion and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Elizabeth "Betty" Hartlen of Colebrook; his daughter, Nicole Hartlen and her daughter, Samantha Hartlen, son Aiden McKeage, and grandson Edyn Wheeler; Billy Hartlen and his son Levi Hartlen; Kellie Poulin, her husband Stephen, and their son Gerard Poulin and sons Parker and Rylan; his son Dustin Poulin and his son Luke; his son John Hartlen and wife Tracy and sons Shawn, Scott, and Tyler; his son Brian Hartlen and girlfriend Danielle and daughter Alice; his daughter Kristina Orben and boyfriend Robert Smith and their daughters Shylynn and Aaliyah; his daughter Susan Orben and boyfriend Ethan Krajniak and daughter Leesa Bresette; his daughter Ginnette Hartlen and sons Brian, Dylan and Brandon and grandchildren Connor, Carter, Patience, Madison, Chloe, Abel, and Trinity; his daughter Beth Hartlen; his daughter Terri Ricker and husband Walter, and their children Jaelyn, Alexis, Jadyn and Bailey; his daughter Candace Mort and her children; his granddaughter Tiesha Fontaine and husband TJ, and their children Haley, Seth, and Bailey; his grandson, Eric Hartlen and fiancee Brooke, and children Ryker, Brandon, Dustin, and Brian; Dennis Nolette, and his brothers and sisters, Claude McKeage, Dennis McKeage, Sonny McKeage, Carol, Charlene and Dottie; numerous nieces and nephews; his life-long friend, Charlie Shagnahn; and countless friends who will miss him very much. He is preceded in death by his mother, Katherine McKeage, and a son, Raymond Mort. There are no public calling hours.
