Linda J. Hyde

WHITEFIELD, NH – Ms. Linda J. Hyde, 63, passed away at the Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, NH, on Saturday, October 17, 2009, after a long period of declining health, and with her family by her side. Linda was born on November 29, 1945, in West Stewartstown, a daughter of Raymond Hyde and June (Gould) Hyde. She was a graduate of Colebrook Academy in the Class of 1964. Following high school, Linda entered the civil service and worked at the Veterans’ Administration Hospital as a certified nursing assistant in Brockton, Mass., for 28 ½ years, retiring on account of her health. Since 1998, she resided in Whitefield at the Morrison Nursing Home, where she was a past president of the residents’ council. In her younger years, Linda was a well-known babysitter in the Colebrook area. She also was a cat lover, as well as a bird lover, and her favorite bird to see was a bright red cardinal. She also loved to go for drives, and bought several cars over the years. Linda doted on her nieces and nephews who will all miss her. Linda is survived her mother, June A. Fluery of North Stratford, NH; two brothers, Gary Hyde of North Stratford, and Dennis Hyde and wife Michelle of Colebrook, NH; her aunts and uncles, Arthur and Dorothy Gould of Columbia, NH, Ruth Cole of North Carver, Mass., Jean and Stan Chase of Concord, NH, Fred and Sylvia Jennings of Goffstown, NH, Robert and Maureen Gould of Londonderry, NH, and Dale and Arlene Gould of Coleville, Wash.; a niece, April Hyde of Colebrook, NH; three nephews, David Hyde, Lucan Hyde of Colebrook, and Sgt. Dennis Hyde, Jr,. and wife, Ashlee, of Watertown, NY; as well as numerous cousins. She is predeceased by her father, Raymond G. Hyde. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook, NH. A funeral service will be held at Noon on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Colebrook, with Pastor Janet Young officiating. Interment will follow at the Keach Cemetery in Columbia. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Ms. Hyde may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Virginia 22312.
