Louis A. Bissonnette

COLEBROOK, NEW HAMPSHIRE – Mr. Louis A. Bissonnette, 87, of Colebrook, NH, passed away at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital late on Friday evening, July 14, 2006, after a long illness, and with his loving family by his side. Mr. Bissonnette was born November 8, 1918, in East Hereford, Québec, son of the late George Bissonnette and Victoria (Pariseau) Bissonnette. Mr. Bissonnette attended school in Hereford and worked on the farm as a boy. He served in the Canadian armed forces during World War II prior to moving to the United States. He worked for many years for the Beecher Falls Division of Ethan Allen as a truck driver and board sawyer. Just recently, Louis and his wife, Louise, celebrated 60 years of marriage. Mr. Bissonnette was an avid fisherman and loved his time camping. He could often be found in his garden, and he especially cherished his time with his family and many grandchildren who were most important to him. He was fond of TV game shows, and he always looked forward to working for the senior citizen meals on Wednesdays. He will be missed by many, and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, cousin and friend. Mr. Bissonnette was a communicant of St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Stewartstown and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Council #3028 of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Bissonnette is survived by his loving wife, Louise, of Colebrook, NH; two sons, Robert Bissonnette and wife, Cindy, of Enfield, NH, and Claude Bissonnette and wife, Lynn, of Pittsburg, NH; five daughters, Alice Lyons and husband, Doug, of Pittsburg, NH, Cecile Worrall, and husband, Kirk, of Barrington, NH, Suzanne Biron and husband, Francis, of Clarksville, Lynne Gray and husband, David, of Canaan, and Jane Frizzell and husband, Tom, of Lemington, VT; four sisters, Gabrielle Bressette, of Jeffersonville, VT, Jeanne Wade, of Island Pond, VT, Elizabeth Adams, of Berlin, NH, and Beatrice Marier, of North Stratford, NH. He is also survived by his twenty-one grandchildren, Paul and Matthew Lyons; Guy, Todd, and Savita Bissonnette; Danielle Carr; Brian, Beth, and Chris Bissonnette; Ghislain Fillion; Regis, Alec, and Mallorie Biron; Timothy, Melissa, Kristina, and Tyler Gray, and Justin, Ryan, Ian and Sarah Frizzell; six great-grandchildren, Haley Bissonnette; Connor, Kessler, and Nolan Lyons; and James and Hana Bissonnette; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Bissonnette, and a granddaughter, Lisa Bissonnette; as well as three brothers and five sisters. Calling hours will be held at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook, NH, on Monday, July 17, 2006, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in West Stewartstown, NH, with The Rev. Craig Cheney and The Reverend Albert Bellefeuille as co-celebrants. Interment will follow at St. Albert’s Cemetery in West Stewartstown.
