Marie M. Beloin

COLEBROOK, NH — Mrs. Marie M. Beloin, 91, of Colebrook, passed away early Monday morning, Sept. 24, 2012, at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook with members of her family by her side. She was born in East Hereford, Quebec, on Nov. 30, 1920, the ninth child of the late Emile and Esther (Lemieux) Marquis. She was educated in Canada, and later married there before emigrating with her young family to the U.S. in 1948. Marie’s life work was as a dedicated homemaker and mother, raising her family and helping run the family farm. She was a talented seamstress, quilter, and knitter who made most of her family’s clothes. Marie was very dedicated to her Catholic faith, and she was a firm believer in the power of prayer, many of which were answered for her during her life. She loved to play bingo, and she was an avid card player, even enjoying a game of cards at the time of her passing. She was a faithful communicant at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church, and she was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club, and a former member of the Daughters of Isabella. She leaves behind her 13 children, Ginette Dowse of Clarksville, NH; Donald Beloin of Colebrook, Ronald Beloin and wife Linda of Columbia, NH, André Beloin of Colebrook, Denis Beloin and wife Peggy, of Underhill, Vt., Marielle Ross and companion Jean-Nil Theroux of Canaan, Vt., Florence Duplessie and husband Michael of Canaan, Denise Chase and husband Jim of St. Albans, Vt., Fernand Beloin of Colebrook, Gerard Beloin and wife Linda of Colebrook and Goffstown, NH, Daniel Beloin of Colebrook, Emilie Langford and husband Rick of Lancaster, NH, and Rosalie LeClaire and husband Richard of Merrimack, NH; 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Eugene Beloin, in 2010; and all of her 13 brothers and sisters and their spouses. Calling hours will be on Thurs., Sept. 27, 2012, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Fri., Sept. 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Colebrook with The Rev. Craig Cheney as celebrant.
