Mona E. Eames

ERROL, NEW HAMPSHIRE – Mrs. Mona E. Eames, 86, of Errol, NH, passed away at the home of her daughter on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 12, 2006, after a long illness and surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Eames was born October 19, 1919, in Lincoln Plantation, Wilson’s Mills, Maine, daughter of the late Ernest Bennett and Vesta (Barrows) Bennett. Mrs. Eames attended Lewiston High School in Lewiston, Maine. After graduation, she moved to Errol and married Everett Eames in 1938. During their 66-year marriage, Everett and Mona were well known in the area for operating Eames Garage in Errol on the corner of Routes 26 and 16. Her daily batches of homemade muffins and doughnuts at the garage were weaknesses for many who stopped. Mona especially enjoyed the time that she spent with her family at camp on Lake Umbagog. She will be missed by many, and will be remembered as a fun-loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend. Mrs. Eames is survived by four children, Elsie Hall and husband, David, of Errol, NH, Norman “Pete” Eames of Errol, NH, Carlton Eames and wife, Cynthia, of Errol, NH, and Chester Eames and wife, Bonnie, of Goffstown, NH; fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Everett, in August of 2005; an infant daughter in 1939; one brother, Lauren Bennett; and three sisters, Marjorie Littlehale, Marna Eastman, and Mary Jordan. Calling hours will be held at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook, NH, on Sunday, July 16, 2006, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 17, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. at the Errol Congregational Church with The Reverend Larry Clough officiating. An interment service will follow at the Errol Cemetery.
