Nancy L. Ladd

STEWARTSTOWN– Nancy Lee Ladd, 68, of Stewartstown, passed away at her home early on Tuesday morning, Oct. 31, 2023, with her family by her side and after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Nancy was born on Jan. 3, 1955, in West Stewartstown. She attended the local schools and was a 1973 graduate of Colebrook Academy. In her younger years, she worked in the Main Dining Room at The Balsams for her sister, Karlene Grover, who was the Maitréss d’Hôtel, and later at the Tillotson Rubber Factory in Dixville. She also worked for a time for her mother-in-law at Ladd’s Shoe Store on Main Street in Colebrook. She retired due to her health from the Coos County Nursing Hospital where she worked for many years as an activity agent for the residents. Nancy loved to go camping, and enjoyed many summers at the Beaver Trail Campground in Lancaster. When her health did not permit a seasonal camping escape, she set up the camper in the backyard and enjoyed camping right at home. She also loved to go fishing, and she loved her flowers and working in her gardens. She also adored her canine companion, Leo, for many years. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, Gary E. Ladd of Stewartstown; her children, Jeremy Ladd and his companion Cinda Wentworth of Plaistow, N.H., and Heather Little and husband Darren of Colebrook; her sister, Karlene Grover of Colebrook and her brother, Randall Munn of Ellington, Conn.; a granddaughter, Gracie Bouchard; and her “bestest” friend, Janis Riley and her husband, Dan, of Laconia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved cousins and in-laws. She is predeceased by her mother, Eleanor Munn, and six siblings. Memorial calling hours will be held on Friday, Nov. 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. Interment in the Stewartstown Hollow Cemetery will occur at a later date. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Nancy may be made to the CCNH Resident Activity Fund, c/o P.O. Box 10, W.
