Roland C. Brigham

STEWARTSTOWN, NH — Roland “Bing” C. Brigham, 77, of Stewartstown, passed away at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook early on Friday morning, Oct. 4, 2013, after a period of declining health. He was born in Stewartstown, on Dec. 22, 1935, a son to the late Ceil and Aileen (McAllaster) Brigham. Roland was a 1954 graduate of Colebrook Academy. For most of his life, Bing was a mechanic by trade, working for several different people over the years. He was, at one time, employed by Roland LaPerle, Vic’s Getty, Joe MacLean’s service station, and he worked for the Beecher Falls Division of Ethan Allen for several years. At the time of his retirement as a mechanic, Bing was working for the Nugent Motor Co. Bing loved to be outdoors and just loved to be in a natural surrounding, whether just listening to the sounds of the woods, cutting pulp-wood, or bush-hogging a field. He will be remembered by his family and loved ones as having a great sense of humor, and his love of laughter will be missed by them all. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rita (Brooks) Brigham of Stewartstown; two daughters, Cindy Brigham of Manchester, NH, and Penny Worrell and husband Mark of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Penn.; a son, Robert Brigham and wife Hollie of Stewartstown; his brother Edward Brigham of Manchester; a sister, Jacquelyn Stewart and husband Frederick of Milford, NH; nine grandchildren, Aaron Haynes of Arizona, Bradley and Christopher Worrell of Penn., Chelsea Hayes of Concord, NH, Casey Brigham of Columbia, NH, Joshua Brigham of Epsom, NH, Floyd Brigham of Concord, Jessica Brigham of Colebrook, and Zeb Brigham of Stewartstown; three great-granchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Bing is preceded in death by a son, Donald Brigham, in 2002. There will be no public calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. in the Colebrook Village Cemetery with The Rev. Rebecca Larson officiating.
