Roland M. Jeffers

COLEBROOK— Mr. Roland M. Jeffers, 68, of Colebrook, NH, passed away at his home on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 24, 2013, after a long period of declining health and surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Colebrook on March 18, 1944, a son to the late Miles and Laura (Blodgett) Jeffers. He was raised and educated in Colebrook and later married Louisette Robidas. Throughout Roland’s life, he was an accomplished guitar player. His early years were spent as a musician, playing classic country music with the Lonesome Valley Boys and later with the Harbor Lights in Berlin. He later worked for several local loggers as a truck driver before his health deteriorated. Roland loved to be outdoors, taking care of his home and yard, of which he was very proud. He cherished time spent with his family, and always loved a family reunion party. He had a renowned, dry sense of humor, and he was a wonderful storyteller. Always a practical joker, Roland was always very convincing, regardless of the amount, or lack thereof, of any truthfulness contained in his stories. He will be missed by all as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He leaves behind his loving wife of almost 48 years, Louisette (Robidas) Jeffers of Colebrook; his son, Vincent Jeffers and wife Lisa of Colebrook; his daughter Lisa Boudle and husband Steven of Groveton; two grandchildren, Khristina Jeffers of Errol and Claudia Boudle; one great-grandson, Conner Philip Wentworth; a brother, Sherwin Jeffers of Palm Springs, Calif.; and six sisters, Marilyn Hicks of Pepperell, Mass., Barbara Vachon and husband Jules of Berlin, NH, Everdene McIntyre of Londonderry, NH, Louise Lang and husband Reggie of Raymond, NH, Beth Avery and husband Earl of Milford, NH, and Eileen Sampson and husband John of Hillsborough, NH; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Roland is preceded in death by a brother, Burt Jeffers; and five sisters, Marjorie and Maxine Jeffers as children, and Emily Thomas, Eunice Gray, and Beverly Blanchard. All services will be private for friends and family. An interment service will occur at a later date in the Colebrook Village Cemetery.
