Ronald L. Marquis

PITTSBURG – Ronald L. Marquis, 76, of Pittsburg, passed away at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021. He was born on June 21, 1944, in East Hereford, Que., the second son to the late Leon and Edith (Maurais) Marquis. Ronald emigrated from Canada with his family when he was very young, and attended school at St. Albert in W. Stewartstown and then Pittsburg High School. Since the age of 4, he always knew that he wanted to be a truck driver, and he never wavered from that. At the age of 17, Ron purchased his first truck and his passion for the rest of his life was trucking and his trucking company. In 1979, he incorporated Ron Marquis Trucking, and the company had 7 trucks on the road at one time. Ron was a wonderful family man and the love he had for them was incredible. He was happiest when surrounded by the ones he loved. He was also a man of great faith so it was important to him to attend mass regularly. Ron was also an avid reader, and even though he didn’t have much time for it, he did enjoy snowmobiling. He also loved to be on the water in his boat kept at his camp on Lake Wallace. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 51 years, Lise (Roy) Marquis of Pittsburg; his son, Ronnie Marquis and wife Kara of Pittsburg; his daughter Christine Ash and husband Robert of Bethlehem, N.H.; two brothers, Gilles (Claudette) Marquis and Normand (Joanne) Marquis of Pittsburg; three sisters, Lise Lessard of Cookshire, Que., Pauline (Denis) Inkell of Colebrook and Carole (Ben) Lemay of Canaan, Vt.; five grandchildren, Christopher and Connor Ash, Alexis, Ronald and Khloe Marquis; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. There are no public calling hours. A private family memorial Mass will be held; and a graveside interment service will be held at a later date in the spring in St. Albert’s Cemetery, of which notice will be given. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Marquis may be made to the North American Martyrs’ Parish, for the benefit of St. Albert’s Church, 55 Pleasant St., Colebrook, NH 03576.
