Sally G. Biron

WEST STEWARTSTOWN – Sally G. Biron, 82, of West Stewartstown, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home on Friday morning, May 27, 2022. She was born in West Stewartstown on March 8, 1940, a daughter to the late Armand and Carmelle (Favreau) Fauteux. On that day in the maternity ward of the Coös County Hospital, she met her future husband who was born three days prior, the first and true “When Harry Met Sally.” They married in 1959. Sally was a 1958 graduate of Canaan Memorial High School and then went on to the Vermont Cosmetology School in Burlington. She was a hairdresser for 57 years in Canaan and later in West Stewartstown, owning and operating “Sally’s Beauty Shop”, and with her friend Carmen Cote for 55 of those years. Sally was a music lover, whether it be participating in local talent show, school musicals, or singing in the choir at church. She also loved to dance and was sure that her husband knew how to, as well. Her faith was also very important to her and she was a life-long communicant at Assumption Church in Canaan and also at St. Albert’s. She and her husband loved their annual trips to Aruba with family and friends every year, as well as renting one of the cabins at Jackson’s Lodge on Lake Wallace each summer. But her treasure was her family, and they treasured her in equal measure and always will. Sally is survived by her four children: John Biron and partner Durand of San Francisco, Calif., Brian Biron and wife Maryse of Georgia, Vt., Elaine Biron and husband Scooter of Kittery, Me., and Harry Biron Jr., of Plymouth, Mass.; a daughter-in-law, Sally Belknap-Biron of Colebrook; two sisters, Jeanne Daley of Lemington, Vt., and Pauline Gould of Madison, Conn.; three brothers, Norman Fauteux of Epsom, N.H., Daniel Fauteux of St-Apollinaire, Que., and Roger Fauteux of Milan, N.H.; seven grandchildren: Jessica Phelps, Alexandra O’Brien, Emily Biron, Olivia Biron, Harry Biron III, Michaella Biron and Chandler Biron; four great-grandchildren, Yuri O’Brien, Mischa O’Brien, Beau Biron and Hadley Biron; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Harry E. Biron, Sr., in 2019; a son, Bruce A. Biron in 2017; and a brother, Raymond Fauteux. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the next morning, Thursday, June 2, at 11 a.m. at St. Albert’s Catholic Church with The Rev. Craig Cheney as celebrant.
