Sharon J. Cove

STEWARTSTOWN – Sharon J. Cove, 77, of Stewartstown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2023, at the home of her daughter in Pittsfield, N.H., with her family by her side. She was born on Oct. 12, 1946, in New Haven, Conn., where her parents, Emmett and Barbara (Palmetter) Christman, raised her and her brother, Christopher. She later met the love of her life, Leo R. Cove, and they were married on Nov. 10, 1969, and just recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. Sharon and Leo moved to New Hampshire where they raised their 5 children. She worked as a certified nursing assistant for more than 50 years at many nursing homes in the Concord area. She also worked for the Concord Visiting Nurses’ Association doing private duty and one-on-one care in the homes of residents who she adored. Sharon’s last place of work was at the N.H. Veterans’ Home in Tilton, N.H., from which she retired. Retirement brought Sharon and her husband to Stewartstown where they built a cozy home and met very kind people and neighbors who she loved very much and who became “forever friends.” She was a kind, compassionate person who enjoyed taking care of others. Sharon’s family and her close friends were very important to her. One of her favorite memories was riding their motorcycle together; she always said that Leo was a great driver because she would fall asleep on the back seat, but they still enjoyed their trips, seeing all the sights and always stopping somewhere to get a bite to eat. She enjoyed her hobby of gardening, where she made beautiful rock gardens filled with gorgeous flowers. Her gardens were truly breath-taking. Sharon also had a love for crochet and made many beautiful blankets for her children and grandchildren. She will be missed dearly and will forever be in their hearts. Sharon leaves behind her husband, Leo R. Cove, Sr., of Stewartstown; two daughters, Vickie St. George and her husband, Matt, of Pittsfield, and Angela Allen and her husband, Bob, of Derry, N.H.; a son, Michael Cove of California; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents and two children, Debbie Miller and Leo R. Cove, Jr. There are no public calling hours or services scheduled at this time.
