Anna Jean Lavoie Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

BLOOMFIELD – Anna Jean Lavoie, 89, of Bloomfield, passed away at the home of her niece in Columbia, N.H., on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born on Nov. 3, 1931, in Bloomfield, a daughter to the late Charles T. and Minnie A. (Gendron) Lavoie. Jean loved animals her whole life and enjoyed taking care of her horses. She worked for many years at the Stratford Plywood Mill and later at the bobbin mill for the Washburn family. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her life-long companion, Maurice Fortier, and she was a caretaker for her mother when she was ill. Jean was a faithful communicant at Sacred Heart Church in North Stratford and also attended Mass daily at the Shrine of Our Lady of Grace in Columbia when it was open. She was also an avid gardener. She is survived by her niece and God-daughter, Norma DeLong and husband Paul Barrows of Columbia; a sister, Marguerite Breault of Bloomfield; as well as nieces and nephews, David Breault, AnneMarie Breault, and Robert DeLong; as well as several great-nieces and nephews. Jean is predeceased by two sisters, Rosemarie Breault and Claire DeLong, her life partner, Maurice Fortier, and nieces and nephews, Peter Breault, “Little Robert” Breault, and Paulette Breault. There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on what would have been her 90th birthday, Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in No. Stratford. A graveside interment service will immediately follow at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery on Rt. 105 in Bloomfield.
