Claire L. Schooner Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

NORTH STRATFORD – Claire L. Schooner, 77, of North Stratford, passed away at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, after battling ill health for many months. She was born in Lancaster, N.H., on Dec. 26, 1944, a daughter to the late Norman and Marjorie (Mills) Carrier. Claire attended school in North Stratford and was a graduate of North Stratford High School in the Class of 1962. She began her working life at the Groveton paper mill and also waitressed at several local establishments. For 20 years, she was a para-professional educator at Camp E-Toh-Anee, a job that she loved. She truly enjoyed being with the youth there. Claire was also the Health & Welfare officer for the Town of Stratford for 20 years. Claire was a very private person, as well, and loved to spend hours in her flower garden each summer. She loved to take trips to Hampton Beach and enjoyed being at the ocean’s edge. She loved her family dearly, and doted on her grandson. She leaves behind her partner of 31 years, Carl Harris, of North Stratford; her daughter, Lisa Dorval and husband Keith Perkins of Manchester, N.H.; a son, Mark Dorval of Stratford; a sister, Arlene Haire and husband Roderick of Tolland, Conn.; her grandson, Dillan Petrie of Bloomfield, Vt.; two nephews, John Haire of Union Conn., and James Haire and wife Kate of Feeding Hills, Mass.; and a niece, Jennifer Pollard and her husband Jeff of Tolland, Conn.
