COLEBROOK – Clarence A. Frizzell, 88, of Colebrook, passed away at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital on Sunday morning, Feb. 7, 2016, surrounded by his loving family and after a long period of failing health. He was born on Sept. 15, 1927, in Columbia, NH, the son of the late Alpheus B. and Catherine (Martin) Frizzell. He was educated in the local schools and was a 1945 graduate of Colebrook Academy. From 1951-53, Clarence served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict as a crane operator. Clarence’s career followed in the heavy equipment field upon returning from military service. He worked as a crane operator during the building of the Aziscoos Dam in Maine; and for many years, he was a truck driver and mechanic, working for himself and several local companies, including Corriveau Trucking, Eddie Nash, Haynes Trucking and for C. Bean Transport. Only his failing eyesight forced him into retirement from the work he loved. In the spring, when trucks couldn’t get into the woods, Clarence worked for Richard Frizzell installing TV antenna systems. He also worked as a snowmobile trail groomer for the Colebrook Ski-Bees. He was a long-time member of the American Legion, G. O’Neil Post #62, a 50-year member of Evening Star Lodge #37, F.&A.M., a Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Eureka Chapter #2, and the Mt. Eustis Chapter #37. Clarence was also active in the York Rite and was a member of the North Star – St. Gerard Commandery #4 of the Knights Templar and North Star Chapter #16, Royal Arch Masons; and he was also a member of the Bektash Temple Shriners. Clarence was also a long-time member of the Colebrook Ski-Bees and enjoyed being out snowmobiling. He was also an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and New England Patriots. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 62 years, Marilyn (Adams) Frizzell of Colebrook; his five children, Beverly Lord and companion Richard Judd of Pittsburg, Linda Yorke and husband Tom of Colebrook, Wayne Frizzell and wife Pamela Gray Frizzell of Colebrook; Jill Young and husband Sandy of Pittsburg; and Jeff Frizzell and wife Kimberly Frizzell of Sangerville, Me.; Aunti Sis Gail Adams Keazer of Colorado; 13 grandchildren, Corey (Theresa) Lord, Shaun Lord, Brian Yorke, Kristina (Dan) Brunette, Bronson (Emily) Frizzell, Haley (Daniel) Giroux, Cormick Frizzell, Michaela Young, Adam Young, Hunter Judd, Brooke Judd, Mark Moore, and Erik Moore; 6 great-grandchildren, Leslie Lord, Keaton Lord, Schyler Yorke, Ariana Lord, Harper & Easton Frizzell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Martin, Edwin, Wilfred, and Bernard Frizzell; four sisters, Marjorie Odell, Emily Floyd, Marion Anderson, and Dorothy Ducret; and a son-in-law, Leslie Lord. There were no public calling hours. A graveside committal service with a Masonic service and military honors will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Colebrook Village Cemetery.
