Donald J.F. Plumley

July 11, 1966 - August 31, 2014

CLARKSVILLE – Donald J. F. Plumley, 48, of Clarksville, died tragically from injuries sustained in a tractor-trailer accident in Lunenburg, Vt., late on Sunday evening, Aug. 31, 2014. Born in Palmer, Mass., on July 11, 1966, he was the son of Donald A. and Mary (Doran) Plumley. His family moved to northern Vermont when he was still young, and Donald was a 1984 graduate of Stratford High School. For the past 24 years, Donald was one of the area’s best-loved milk truck drivers, delivering the products of local dairy farms for Rancourt Trucking. He loved his daily stops at the many farms, and he enjoyed visiting with all the farmers. He was an avid hunter and snowmobiler, and he looked forward to his annual snowmobiling trip to Jackman, Me. He was a fan of NASCAR racing, and he also raised a few turkeys and chickens on his own little home farm. He was very close to his father, and loved to spend time with him, and talked with him every day. He also enjoyed all other family events and was a very social person who loved to meet new people. He will be dearly missed by all his family, friends and co-workers. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kimberly (Gadwah) Plumley of Clarksville; his two daughters, Erin Blanchard and husband Michael of Pittsburg, and Kaylan Gray and fiancé Douglas Elliott of Colebrook; his father, Donald A. Plumley of Brunswick, Vt.; two brothers, Steve Plumley and wife Carole Rodrigue of Stewartstown, and Matthew Plumley and wife Sharal of Guildhall, Vt.; and two nephews, Jarrod and Joshua Plumley. He is preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Heather Kish. Calling hours will be on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 1:30 p.m. at the Perry Cemetery on West Road in Clarksville. A celebration of Donald’s life will be part of a special event at the Rancourt Trucking garage on West Road immediately following the service. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Plumley may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be offered to the family on-line by going to www.jenkinsnewman.com. Funeral arrangements in NH are under the direction of Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook.
