Elizabeth M. Cote

June 22, 1939 - February 20, 2017

NORTH STRATFORD— Elizabeth M. Cote, 77, of North Stratford, passed away Monday evening, Feb. 20, 2017, at the Coos County Nursing Hospital in W. Stewartstown surrounded by members of her loving family. She was born in Norton Mills, Vt., on June 22, 1939, a daughter to the late Dennis and Lorena (Potter) Gaudette. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Elizabeth was a nurse and worked for Genesis Healthcare in Lancaster prior to retiring. She loved puzzles and word searches, and she enjoyed country & western music. She was a huge fan of Elvis. A hard-working provider, Elizabeth always thought of her family and others before she thought of herself. She was always welcoming someone into her home. She loved time with her kids and grandchildren, and she loved to go on family picnics and travel to Old Orchard Beach in Maine. She was a communicant at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in North Stratford. Elizabeth leaves behind her six children, Theresa Marchand and husband Michel of North Stratford, Mary Cote of Colebrook, Rosalie King and partner David Parker of Pittsburg, Donna Cote of Thornton, NH, Lori Cote and partner John Chadwick of Lancaster, and Hector Cote, Jr. of Berlin; five brothers, John Gaudette of Colebrook, Leo Gaudette of Tilton, NH, Wilfred Gaudette of North Stratford, Henry Gaudette of Gorham, NH, and William Gaudette of Derry, NH; a sister, Pauline Stohl of Meredith, NH; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Hector Cote, Sr., in 1998, and five brothers, David Gaudette, Archie Gaudette, Arthur Gaudette, Paul Gaudette and Francis Gaudette. Calling hours will be on Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be the next morning, Saturday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in North Stratford with The Rev. Daniel Deveau as celebrant. Burial will be in the spring at the Fairview Cemetery in North Stratford of which notice will be given. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Cote may be made to the Two Rivers Ride for Cancer, c/o R. Mulliken, 53 Spring St., Colebrook, NH; or to the CCNH Residents’ Activity Fund, c/o P.O. Box 10., W. Stewartstown, NH 03597. Condolences may be offered to the family on-line by going to www.jenkinsnewman.com.
