WEST STEWARTSTOWN – Ernest “Smokey Joe” Stover, 86, formerly of Pittsburg, NH, passed away on Tuesday evening, Sept. 23, 2014, at the Coös County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown. Ernest was born on Nov. 16, 1927, in West Stewartstown. He attended local schools and later served in the U.S. Army from Dec., 1945, until Oct., 1947, and then again from April, 1949, to Jan., 1953. He is preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Vashaw, in 2006. There are no public calling hours. A private burial will take place at the Colebrook Village Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home, Colebrook, NH.
