Kelly Lafond
December 2, 1959 - January 29, 2022
COLEBROOK – Kelly Lafond, 62, of Colebrook, died on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at her residence in Colby Commons after a long battle with a rare medical condition called Scleroderma, as well as late-stage diabetes. Kelly was born at the Coös County Hospital in W. Stewartstown on December 2, 1959. She was raised on the Rainville family farm in East Colebrook, and spent a great deal of time there in her final years. Kelly's love of helping others began shortly after high school when she ran an exercise program on Main Street in Colebrook. She went on to earn her LNA in Berlin where she met her husband-to-be, and then began her nursing career at the Coös County Nursing Home. Kelly married and had a beautiful daughter named Amanda. Kelly was also a paramedic. During one of her calls, she was injured while lifting a patient onto a gurney and into the ambulance. Although Kelly could no longer pursue her career in healthcare, she did find another outlet for her desire to help others. Kelly managed to provide comfort and hope to many. She loved to crochet, and enjoyed giving homemade things to the people in her life. Kelly also rescued animals. She provided a loving home for cats, dogs, hamsters, birds, and her childhood favorite-guinea pigs. Kelly recently adopted an 11-year-old cat named Noo Noo who is now providing comfort to her family. Kelly leaves behind her mother Carolyn Mason Rainville; her step-father Fred Rainville I, brothers Fred Rainville II and his wife Cindy; Christian Rainville and his wife Sabrina; Armand Rainville and his partner Julie Ladd Rainville, a sister Lisa Lafond and her husband Vince Jeffers; two uncles, Kenneth Stanley Jr. and Bradley Stanley; her aunt Gloria Phillips and David Gadwah; her close friends Mitze Moran of Colby Commons and Beverly Laughton Hibbard of Berlin; her ex-husband Gerard Bourque Jr. and his wife Deborah; her daughter's Grampa and Grammy Holt and Grammy Ruth Bourque; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Kelly was pre-deceased by her father, John Lafond, Sr., grandfather Clayton Abel Mason, grandmother Marion Bennett Stanley, and both grandparents Lafond; a brother John Lafond Jr.; a step-sister, Kelly Marie Rainville; and her daughter Amanda. Kelly's family misses her dearly, but the empty space in their hearts will be filled when God returns to us in the wonderful resurrection! There are no public calling hours. A private memorial and burial will take place in the spring. Condolences may be offered to the family on-line by going to www.jenkinsnewman.com. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home.
