CANAAN — Lucien Pilote, 87, of Canaan, Vt., passed away early on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was born in St. Christine, Quebec, on June 27, 1930, a son to the late Wilfred and Amanda (Davide) Pilote. Lucien owned and operated a dairy farm in Canaan in partnership with the late Gerard Robitaille for many years. On the farm, he especially enjoyed working the machinery and repairing the equipment. For many years, he operated a trail groomer for his snowmobile club. In his later years, he enjoyed pampering his small plantation of Falser trees in his back yard and was always in his garage fixing or making things. He will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father. Lucien is survived by his son Leo Pilote and wife, Kim of Loudon, NH; two daughters, Lise Seibel and husband, Ed of Hopkinton, NH, and Suzanne Patenaude and husband Luc of Canada; two sisters, Viola Robitaille of Canaan and Anita Mailloux of Coaticock, Que.; six grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Claire Pilote, his daughter Carole Pilote, and his brother Roger Pilote. Visiting hours will be at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook, NH, on Saturday, July 29, 2017, from 1 to 3 p.m. All other services will be private.
