Pauline Rodrigue

WEST STEWARTSTOWN– Pauline Rodrigue, 75, of West Stewartstown, passed away on Friday morning, March 20, 2020, at her home and surrounded by her loving family. She was born in St. Isidore, Que., on May 27, 1944, a daughter to the late Roma and Antoinette (Desindes) Pouliot. She attended school in Canada and married Gaston Rodrigue on Aug. 19, 1961. Pauline was a hard worker with an entrepreneurial spirit her whole life. She was a self-made business woman who began her career by selling Stanley products, door to door, and she later also sold Electrolux vacuums, and eventually decided to enter the jewelry business, which culminated in her long-time and successful proprietorship of Pauline’s Boutique in West Stewartstown. In 1998, she and her husband owned and operated the Northland Restaurant for five years. For many years, she also kept all the books and records for the family logging business. The Rodrigues retired in 2004, and for sixteen years enjoyed wintering in Stuart, Fla. Pauline was a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother, loving her family above all. She also enjoyed trips to casinos, near and far, and loved a good card game with family and friends. She was a woman of great faith and was a communicant at St. Albert’s Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Gaston Rodrigue of West Stewartstown; a daughter, Johanne Rodrigue of Clarksville; two sons, Michel Rodrigue and wife Guylaine of Stewartstown and Ronny Rodrigue and wife Carmen of Clarksville; a sister, Suzanne Cook and husband David of Stewartstown; six grandchildren, Kathleen Rodrigue, Melanie Smith, Patrick Rodrigue, Bethany Poulin, Devin Rodrigue and Tanis Place; and a great-grandson, Luke Poulin. Pauline is predeceased by a brother, Yvan Pouliot. There are no public calling hours. Other services will be private. A celebration of Pauline’s life will be held at a later date of which notice will be given.
