NASHUA — Raymond Hector Bonenfant, 71, of Nashua and formerly of Keene, NH, and Pittsburg, NH, died of pericardium calcification of the heart on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Nashua, NH, on July 10, 1946, a son to the late Hector and Camille (Leblanc) Bonenfant. Ray worked in Nashua for many years before marrying his wife Debbie on April 3, 1976. They lived in Keene until 1992 when they moved to Pittsburg, NH, and lived there until August of 2009. They moved back to Nashua, and resided at Pratt Homes. When Ray was in Keene he worked for Kingsbury Machine Tool, the Keene Water & Highway departments, then at Cheshire Medical Center where he became head carpenter there. He was commended at CMC by his boss for all his talent. When the family moved to Pittsburg, he worked for Tall Timber Lodge, Ramblewood Cabins & Campground, Mountain View Cabins , groomed snowmobile trails in the winter, and he worked for Richard Judd. He retired from Ramblewood Cabins in July, 2008, and moved to Nashua the following summer. He was a very good mechanic and an extremely talented carpenter who could make anything from wood. He was a very talented man in many different ways. He worked on vehicles and snowmobiles with his two children and they all enjoyed snowmobiling and hunting . The family vacationed at York Beach, Me., many times with their children and also had a camper at Old Orchard Beach where the whole family enjoyed the ocean very much. He liked to play miniature golf and go deep sea fishing, loved to visit Nubble Light House with his family when vacationing at York Beach, and loved to go hunting with his son and friends and father in law, snowmobiling with his daughter, and teaching both children woodworking projects and taught them all how to repair snowmobiles, dirt bikes, and 4- wheelers. Raymond leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Deborah J. (Wilson) Bonenfant of Nashua; his daughter, Nicolle Sherrill and husband Jesse of Barrington, NH; two grandchildren, Peyton Hope Sherrill and Quinn Richard Sherrill; and his sister, Mona Zaker of Litchfield, NH; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He is preceded in death by his son, Jason R. Bonenfant in 1998; and two brothers, Maurice and Norman. There will be no public calling hours. A private graveside service will be held in the Indian Stream Cemetery in Pittsburg at the convenience of the family.
