PITTSBURG – Tabor Patrick Gray, 89, of Pittsburg passed away at the Coös County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 7, 2015, after a period of declining health and surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 25, 1925, in Pittsburg, a son of the late Leroy and Linnie (Young) Gray. As a youth, he was a Boy Scout and 4-H member. He was a 1943 graduate of Pittsburg High School, and then entered the U.S. Army during World War II, serving with honor with the 19th Infantry in the Phillippines and Japan. He was a staff sergeant at the time of his discharge. After the war, Tabor attended the Thompson School of Agriculture at UNH, graduating in 1949. Tabor met his loving wife, Eunice Jeffers, in 1953 and they were married in September of that year. He worked for a few years as a herdsman for the Coös County Farm prior to purchasing his own dairy farm where he had resided for his entire life, and where he and Eunice raised their own family. Tabor took great satisfaction in producing quality milk that received awards from both Agri-Mark and Hood. The Grays worked the farm until retiring in 1990. Tabor also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family, and his later years, he enjoyed cooking. He spent much time reading and enjoyed studying the Bible. Both he and Eunice were members of the Farnham Memorial United Methodist Church in Pittsburg, and they were very much involved in the Lakeside camp meetings for 18 years. Tabor leaves behind his three sons, Harold and wife Sandy of Groveton, Leonard and wife Tammy of Pittsburg, and Keith Gray of Laconia; a daughter, Rose Hicks and husband Irving of Clarksville; eight grandchildren, Erin Blanchard and husband Michael of Pittsburg, Kaylan Gray and fiancé Douglass of Colebrook, Ronnie and Leon Hicks of Pittsburg, Monica Labrance, Jenn Tetreault of Whitefield, Lauren Tetreault of Keene and Nathan Tetreault of Groveton; eight great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Eunice in 2003, and a brother, Robert Gray in 2007. At Tabor’s specific request, there are no public calling hours. A funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the Farnham Memorial United Methodist Church in Pittsburg with The Rev. Paula Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in the spring at the Indian Stream Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Gray may be made to the Farnham Memorial United Methodist Church, c/o Leslie Covell, P.O.
