Adrien D. Dostie

COLEBROOK – Adrien Donald Dostie, 30, of Colebrook, passed away very suddenly on Sunday morning, June 30, 2019, in Stewartstown. He was born on Sept. 7, 1988, in Colebrook, a son to Denis and Chantal (Gregoire) Dostie. He attended schools in Colebrook and graduated from Colebrook Academy in 2006. He then attended the vocational technical school in Berlin and studied welding. Adrien was a big man with a big smile, and an even bigger heart. He was a generous soul who would do anything to help someone if they needed it. Wherever he was, as soon as he walked in, his infectious smile and larger-than-life personality would take over. His sense of humor made sure that no one was a stranger to him, with his big smile, booming laugh and twinkling green eyes drawing everyone in. Underneath was the warmest, kindest man who loved his family with all his heart. From when he was just a kid playing with equipment to when he grew to be a seasoned logger, Adrien could operate anything with a steering wheel or joysticks with ease. His passion was in the woods, like his father, and he was a skilled welder, log loader operator, and grapple skidder man who could drive the wheels off any truck. He always wanted to be the best and strived to pull the most wood or load the biggest loads. Adrien was a very hard worker, but managed to play even harder. He lived life on his terms: full throttle and with no fear, pushing boundaries until the end. He is survived by his parents, Denis and Chantal Dostie; his younger sister, Natalie Dostie; his grandfather Andy Dostie; aunts and uncles Donald Dostie, Germain and Gaetane Boire, Pierrette ‘Pete’ Champagne, Mario and Jill Gregoire, and Cara Lariviere; cousins Craig Boire and Lisa Starling, Lance and Melissa Boire, Lucas Champagne and Casey Hibbard, Kristie Champagne and Taylor Kenney, Andre Dostie, Austin Sanschagrin and Keith Decosta; as well as countless friends. He is predeceased by his grandmothers, Louisa Dostie and Rejeanne Gregoire, and his uncle Gilles Champagne. There are no public calling hours. A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, July 6, from 1 – 4 p.m. at the American Legion hall in Canaan, Vt.
