Bruce A. Biron

WEST STEWARTSTOWN – Bruce A. Biron, 55, of West Stewartstown, died on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 13, 2017, at the Beecher Falls Division of Ethan Allen as the result of a tragic workplace accident. He was born in West Stewartstown on Sept. 4, 1962, the son of Harry and Sally (Fauteux) Biron. He graduated from Canaan Memorial High School in 1980. Bruce was a three-sport athlete, playing soccer, basketball, and baseball. He also loved shop class with Mr. Young and Mr. Forbes. After high school Bruce attended Hobart Institute of Welding in Dayton, OH, where he earned a certificate in welding and fabrication. Using his new skills, he worked for Tom Hurley in Boston at the shipyard, where he did underwater welding. He later returned to the North Country, working for Frank Bergeron and Rosario Poulin, along with side jobs for himself. In 1993, he went to work for Ethan Allen’s maintenance department. Bruce was responsible for all the major equipment used in the factory. He did anything and everything for Ethan Allen, and called it his second home. Not one to sit idle, Bruce helped out area loggers on the weekends, working with Laurent Rancourt Trucking for over 30 years, as well as Josh Boire Logging. In his little garage at home he was the master mechanic for many local people. Whether it was a boat, ATV, or snowmobile, he never said no. It didn’t matter how big or small it was. The yard at times would like a marina with so many boats, and there was nothing he couldn’t fix or fabricate. Bruce loved his CJ7 Jeep, wrestling, UFC fighting, as well as the Red Sox and Celtics. He enjoyed the Stewartstown Day Parade where he drove all kinds of equipment, and loved the annual Soapbox Derby. He also took great pride in his snowmobile that he converted into a three-wheeler and which still runs today. Most of all Bruce loved his family and friends more than anything. He grew up bleeding Canaan purple, but with his kids at school in Colebrook, ended up wearing Colebrook green proudly. With pride he followed his daughter Michaella wherever she played, from the NBA FIT in Dallas, Tex., through her high school sports and at NHTI, where she plays college basketball. Bruce’s dad was with him on almost all of these road trips. He also was proud of his son Chandler’s dedication to the Key Club and never missed an event. People would ask how many miles Bruce had on his vehicles as he could be seen driving up and down Route 3, bringing his kids back and forth to their functions. Bruce will be remembered for the love of his family. He gave endlessly and never asked for anything in return. He rarely had a bad day and he didn’t have an enemy in the world. He leaves behind his wife of almost 25 years, Sally Belknap-Biron of West Stewartstown; his daughters Jessica and Michaella, his son Chandler; his parents, Sally and Harry Biron of West Stewartstown; one sister, Elaine and husband Scooter; and three brothers, John and his partner Durand, his twin brother Brian and wife Maryse, and Harry Jr and fiancée Carla., along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place the next morning, Wed., Dec. 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Colebrook. A graveside committal will take place in the spring at St. Albert’s Cemetery of which notice will be given. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Bruce may be sent to the Colebrook Booster Club, P.O.
