Darlene J. Kenney

COLEBROOK – Darlene J. Kenney, 71, of Colebrook, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, Jan. 15, 2021, at the Country Village Healthcare Center in Lancaster after a long period of ill health. She was born on April 14, 1949, in West Stewartstown, the only daughter to the late Emery A. and Lorraine (Lizotte) Cameron, Sr. Darlene was raised in Rangeley, Me., and was a 1967 graduate of Rangeley High School. In 1968 she married Earl G. Kenney and together they enjoyed 41 years together raising their family. For a short time, they moved to the Exeter area, but returned to Colebrook in 1974. Darlene worked various jobs, but for many years she worked at the Tillotson Rubber Co. in Dixville while also working in the kitchen at Howard’s Restaurant. She loved to cross-stitch and was a very talented doll maker. She enjoyed card games with her family, especially Skip-Bo, and time spent with her family during the holidays was always treasured. Darlene also loved to just go out for rides on the back roads seeing the sights with her husband. She is survived by her two children, Alan Kenney of Bloomfield, Vt., and Diane Beaton of Colebrook; a brother, Terry Cameron of Errol, and five grandchildren: Rhiannon Frizzell, Trevor Frizzell, Mackenzie Kenney, Morgan Beaton and Madison Beaton; and one great-grandchild, Myla Sykes. She will also be dearly missed by her life-long best friend, Shirley “Chickie” Savage of Wentworth Location. Darlene is preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl “Skip” Kenney in 2009, and a brother, Alton Cameron. There are no public calling hours. A graveside interment service will be held later in the spring of 2021 at the Colebrook Village Cemetery, of which notice will be given, and to be followed by a celebration of her life.
