Diane R. Haynes

WEST STEWARTSTOWN - Diane R. Haynes, 63, of West Stewartstown, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, July 29, 2023, at her home. Diane was born in West Stewartstown on August 30, 1959, to loving parents Les and Ruth (Foote) Covell. She spent her early years in Pittsburg, NH, where she attended school and graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1977. In the summer of the same year, she married the love of her life, Eldon Haynes, and together they settled on Back Pond Road in West Stewartstown, building a life filled with love and cherished memories. Throughout her life, Diane touched the lives of many. For 20 years, she served as a compassionate Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) at Coos County Nursing Hospital, caring for others with kindness and empathy. For almost two years, she brought joy to guests as part of the team at Lopstick Lodge in Pittsburg. Nature was Diane's sanctuary, and she found immense joy in the great outdoors. Her heart was woven with love for animals, especially her cherished dogs (her "puppies"), cats, and horses. Diane was an avid gardener and talented baker, creating beauty and delicious baked goods (apple spice cake was a specialty), for those she cared for. She took great pride in the flowers and trees she planted, adding a touch of vibrancy to the world around her. Birdsong brought her delight, and she cherished every feathered friend, especially hummingbirds, that graced her presence. Her love of nature extended to taking her grandnephew and grandnieces on adventures into the woods on Dearth Mountain, traveling the “Coyote Trail” and pointing out the various birds, animals, and trees along the way. Trips to Maine were also a favorite pastime, visiting farmstands to gather whatever was in season at the time. She thoroughly enjoyed her many outings with Eldon, which often included Ashley and Waylon, each one being an adventure all its own. In addition to Diane’s immediate family, many more precious memories were made throughout the years with extended family and friends. Diane leaves behind a loving legacy, including her loving and devoted husband of 46 years, Eldon S. Haynes; her beloved daughter, Ashley D. Haynes, and companion Waylon Marsh; her parents, Les and Ruth Covell; her brothers, Darrel (Amy) Covell and Mark Covell; her brothers-in-law, Kevin (Paula) Haynes and Scott (Roxanne) Haynes, her sister-in-law Kathleen Adams, grandchildren Elizabeth Marsh and Devin Marsh and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her canine companions, who shared in her love and companionship. She is predeceased by her dear brother, Matthew Covell, her father-in-law Keith "Skip" Haynes and her mother-in-law Emily D. Haynes. In accordance with Diane's wishes, there were no public calling hours. A private remembrance was held at Ashley and Waylon's home, gathering immediate family and close friends to celebrate her life and the cherished memories she created.
