Eusebe G. Madore

PITTSBURG — Eusèbe ‘Zeb’ G. Madore, 85, of Pittsburg, passed away at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH, on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in St. Malo, Québec, on April 3, 1932, a son to the late Thomas and Agnes (Pelletier) Madore. In his early years, Zeb worked on farms and did Christmas tree farming in Canada. For most of his working life, Zeb was a logger. From 1969 to 2001, he and his brother-in-law owned and operated Madore & Paquette Logging, for which they both had a passion, and leaving little time for other activities. After retiring, Zeb continued to work for his son, Danny, delivering snowplows and lawnmowers, and which kept him in touch with his friends and touring around the north country. The Madores enjoyed spending many winters in Florida where Zeb kept himself busy doing volunteer work for his community. He also became an avid reader, and he loved the continued learning that his books brought to him. His family was most important to him, and he cherished time spent with everyone of them. His faith was also important to him and he was a devoted communicant at St. Albert’s Church in West Stewartstown. Zeb was also instrumental in the foundation and construction of the new church in 1985. Zeb is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Suzanne (Paquette) Madore of Pittsburg; his four children, Hélène Clogston (Rick) of Pittsburg, Lucie Gray (Arnold) of Pittsburg, Daniel Madore (Cindy) of Canaan, and Nicole (Russell) Clark of Littleton, NH; eight brothers, Renald Madore (Mariette) of Coaticook, Que., Jean-Claude Madore (Celine) of West Stewartstown; Pantaleon Madore of St. Malo, Que., Jules Madore (Francoise) of West Stewartstown, Pierre Madore (Noella) of Sherbrooke, Que., Rosario Madore (Berthe) of Coaticook, Gilles Madore of Sherbrooke, and Mario (Joanne) of Cookshire, Que.; three sisters, Marte and Jeanine Robidas of Coaticook, and Denise Fauteux (H. Paul) of St. Malo; ten grandchildren, Steven Clogston, Jennifer Mathieu, Christopher & Ashley Gray, Justine Madore, Alexandra Madore, Courtney Madore and Mallorie Madore, Taylor & Brittany Gray; four great-grandchildren, Darren & Delia Clogston, Mackenzie & Isabella Gray; a beloved sister-in-law, Suzanne Scalabrini (Jean-Rene) of Coaticook; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by a brother, André Madore; and two sisters, Therese Thibault and Juliette Inkel. Calling hours will be on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, from 2-4 & 6 – 8 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the next morning, Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 11 a.m. at St. Albert’s Church in West Stewartstown. Burial will immediately follow at St. Albert’s Cemetery.
