Gordon L. Fogg

NORTH STRATFORD — Gordon L. Fogg, 79, passed away peacefully, with his family holding his hand, early on Saturday morning, July 6, 2013, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, lovingly cared for by the staff and his family, who were all by his side during a decline in health, and as he answered God’s call. Gordon was born in Milan, NH, on April 2, 1934, a son to the late Alton and Dorothy (Peabody) Fogg. The family moved to Colebrook when Gordon was a young child, and he later graduated with the Class of 1952 from Colebrook Academy. He served with honor in the U.S. Army in Korea, worked at many different jobs in the area, and retired from the Groveton Paper Board after 28 years of dedicated employment. Gordon belonged to the Knights of Pythias and at one time held all offices in North Stratford. He enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, riding his golf cart in Florida, and he loved to dance, fish, and most of all to spend time with family and friends. Gordon’s sense of humor was, and always will be, enjoyed. Gordon’s one true love of his life, Beverly, brought great joy throughout their 55 years of marriage, and created a lasting legacy of love for all who knew them and it will carry on through their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Gordon was a loving husband and best friend to his wife of 55 years, Beverly (Drew) Fogg of North Stratford; proud father of his three children, Karol Jennings and her husband, Frederick, of Barefoot Bay Fla., Kathy Fogg and her partner Bernard, of North Stratford, and Kevin Fogg and his wife, Alana, of Poland, Me.; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother to Maurice Fogg of North Stratford, Ralph and Eileen Fogg of Colebrook, Alfred Fogg of Brookline, Mass., Norman Fogg Columbia; and an uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three brothers, Ray, Roy, and Gene Fogg. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 10, at 1 p.m. at the 1st Baptist Church in North Stratford with Pastor Cindy Grassi officiating. Burial with military honors will take place immediately following the funeral at the Fairview Cemetery.
