Helene M. Boutin

BEECHER FALLS – Helene M. Boutin, 92, passed away early on Thursday morning, Dec. 18, 2025, at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook, with her family at her side and after a period of declining health. She was born in St. Isidore d’ Clifton, Quebec, on Aug. 23, 1933, the first child to the late Philippe and Gracia (Mercier) Vaillancourt. She attended school in Sawyerville. After her marriage, she and her husband, Roger, moved to the U.S. in 1958 for his employment at Ethan Allen in Beecher Falls where they made their home and raised their family. In addition to being a devoted homemaker for her family, Helene worked for Manchester Manufacturing, Inc. in Colebrook for 13 years before taking a job as a furniture repairer at Ethan Allen, from which she retired. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and tatting, maple sugaring in the spring and couldn’t pass up a good yard sale. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren who all loved to visit with her over a home cooked meal which always included dessert. She and her husband loved to go out on Saturday night to dance at local establishments, and many in the area will remember them as a talented dancing pair. Her faith was important to her and she was a faithful communicant at St. Albert’s Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabelle. She is survived by her three children, Levis Boutin and wife Judy of Beecher Falls, Francis Boutin of Concord, N.H., and Judith Cole and her husband Brian of Cotuit, Mass.; eight siblings, George Vaillancourt, Normand Vaillancourt, Jack Vaillancourt, Sylvain Vaillancourt, Gervais Vaillancourt, Rose Vaillancourt, Jeannette Scarlet, and Marjolaine Vaillancourt; her son-in-law, Jason Laughton and his wife Donna of Clarksville; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Helene is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Roger L. Boutin in 2023, a daughter Chantal Laughton in 1993, and a brother, Berchmans Vaillancourt. A memorial service will be held at Noon on Sat., Jan. 24, 2026, at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. - Noon prior to the service. A private graveside committal will occur later in the spring at St. Albert’s Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Boutin may be made to the Two Rivers Relief for Cancer, P.O.
