JoAnne F. Jones

BEECHER FALLS, VERMONT – Mrs. JoAnne F. Jones, 69, of Beecher Falls, Vt., and formerly of Massachusetts and Arizona, passed away early Saturday morning, September 13, 2008, at her home in Beecher Falls surrounded by members of her loving family. Mrs. Jones was born May 5, 1939, in Somerville, Mass., a daughter of the late Robert Squeglia and Ottobrina “Betty” (D’Antilio) Squeglia. She was educated in Massachusetts and married James “Jim” Jones on April 1, 1957. After residing in Massachusetts for many years, they then relocated to Arizona to live for 35 years. Two years ago, they moved to the North Country, where JoAnne loved the winter weather. A devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother, JoAnne was also known for her love of music and her singing voice. Although she loved all kinds of music, she was particulary fond of country-western. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and was an accomplished artist. She especially enjoyed decorating for the holidays and making homemade Christmas decorations. JoAnne loved to play games of all kinds, and she was proud of her Italian heritage that also came through in her cooking. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Mrs. Jones is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, James “Jim” Jones, of Beecher Falls, Vt.; five children, Denise McCarthy and husband, Bill, of Nottingham, NH, James Jones, Jr. and wife Lisa of Billerica, Mass., Terri Hurley and husband, Dennis Bailey of Tuscon, Az., Ellie Wieweck of Beecher Falls, and Bill Jones and wife, Shelley, of Beecher Falls; a brother, Ernest Squeglia of Woburn, Mass.; two sisters, Bobbie Donahue of Raynham, Mass., and Sandra McGinley; a special cousin, Ann Rice of Connecticut; numerous grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. JoAnne is preceded in death by a sister, Dolores Sampson. There will be no calling hours. A private family service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
