Maureen A. Malloy

COLEBROOK – Maureen A. Malloy, 66, of Colebrook, died peacefully on Sunday evening, Sept. 4, 2016, at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital with her family by her side and after battling cancer for three years. She was born in Belmont, Mass., on Dec. 22, 1949, a daughter to the late James and Marion (Dennen) Walsh. She attended Belmont public schools and later went on to earn her associate's degree at Fisher Junior College. She worked for Bentley University as an administrative secretary in the Natural Science department until she retired in 2002. After retiring, Maureen and her husband John moved to Colebrook, where she spent her days gardening, working on her home, and traveling. Maureen’s greatest joy was working in her garden and enjoying the beauty of the Great North Woods through the various seasons. She was an avid snowmobiler and loved taking pictures of her home, garden, and surrounding wildlife. When she was not enjoying the beauty that New Hampshire had to offer, Maureen was traveling the world. Her favorite spots included Las Vegas and the various islands of the Caribbean. To celebrate one of their wedding anniversaries, she and her husband took a dream vacation to Europe where Maureen was immersed in the cultures of Italy, Spain, Greece, and Turkey. It was a once in a lifetime trip that she spoke of often with enthusiasm and excitement. Her greatest sense of pride and joy came in the love she had for her family. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, John; her son Robert and his wife Erin and their children, Margaret and Christian Pugh; her daughter Laurieanne Davis and her husband Shawn; her father-in-law Neil; her brother Skipper Walsh and his wife Paula, and their children Michael, Matthew, and Emily; several brothers and sisters-in-law who were the center of her being; as well as a niece and two nephews. There are no public calling hours. There will be a celebration of her life held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
