Pauline A. Cote

WEST STEWARTSTOWN, NH -- Mrs. Pauline A. Cote, 75, of West Stewartstown, NH, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 27, 2010, at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook, with her loving family at her side. Mrs. Cote was born on June 12, 1934, in West Stewartstown, a daughter of the late Arthur Lanctot and Rose Ida (Benoit) Lanctot. She attended school at St. Albert’s in West Stewartstown, and married Oscar Cote in 1953. From 1967-1985 Pauline worked as an inspector at the Beecher Falls Division of Ethan Allen. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Legion and a communicant at St. Albert’s Catholic Church. Pauline loved to play bingo and card games, and she also loved to cook. One of her greatest joys was to have a houseful of her family members, especially her grandchildren and great-granchildren, many of whom she helped raise. For many winters, Pauline spent time with her sister in Florida. She will be remembered by all as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. Mrs. Cote is survived by three children, Jean Cote and fiancée, Diane Rice, of Canaan, Vt.; Julie Charest and husband, John, of West Stewartstown, NH, and Louise Washburn and husband Wayne of Canaan; two brothers, Louis Lanctot of Pittsburg, NH, and Raymond “Pit” Lanctot, of St. Hermènègilde, Québec; three sisters, Louise Bissonnette of Colebrook, NH, Theresa Merrill of Florida, and Suzanne Wheeler of Canaan; ten grandchildren, Josee (Cote) Robinson, Celine Cote, Michelle (Charest) Morgan, Eric Charest, Alain Westover, Benjamin Washburn, Jeremy Westover, Shawn Charest, Brian Washburn and Dominic Westover; four great-granchildren, Adrianna Robinson, Delaney Robinson, Eiea Morgan, Ciara Robinson; a soon-to-be-born great-grandson; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar, in 2000; a granddaughter, Nicole Cote; a daughter-in-law, Diane Cote, and by nine siblings, Jeanne Lanctot, Laurent Lanctot, Jean Lanctot, Albert Lanctot, Maurice Lanctot, Armand Lanctot, Leonide Lanctot, Edmond Lanctot and Jules Lanctot. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, January 30, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in West Stewartstown with The Rev. Craig Cheney as celebrant. An interment service will be held in the spring at St. Brendan’s Cemetery in Colebrook.
