Rita A. Bergeron

BEECHER FALLS – Rita A. Bergeron, 85, passed away at the Coös County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown on Friday, Dec. 13, 2019, after a long period of ill health and surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 8, 1934, in Beecher Falls, a daughter to the late William and Rose (Paquette) Prehemo. She attended St. Albert School and later the Our Lady of Grace Academy in Colebrook. Rita was a very dedicated mother and homemaker to her family. She kept a large garden for many years, and loved to can what her family grew and was able to pick from the bounty of the land. She was a talented crafter, always crocheting and making things for others. When her own children were grown, Rita was often babysitting for others. both in and outside her home. She loved to play Bingo and participate in church activities. Her faith was very important to her, and she was a life-long communicant of St. Albert’s Church. She is survived by seven children, Michel Bergeron of Nashua, NH, Rachel Bergeron of Manchester, NH, Paul (Denise) Bergeron of Manchester, Cecile (Rocky) Routhier of Nashua, twins Jane Bergeron of Beecher Falls and Janet (Terry) Jones of Northfield, NH, and Claude (Kathy) Bergeron of Lutz, Fla.; three brothers, Henry (Lucy) Prehemo of Beecher Falls, Raymond Prehemo of Pittsburg, and Robert (Carleen) Prehemo of Pittsburg; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Leo Bergeron in 1997, a son, Denis Bergeron in 2003, and a sister, Clara Cameron. Calling hours will be on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, from 6 and 8 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the next morning, Saturday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. at St. Albert’s Catholic Church with The Rev. Craig Cheney as celebrant. Interment will occur in the spring in St. Albert’s Cemetery, of which notice will be given.
