Robert E. Biron

Mr. Robert E. Biron, 69, of Colebrook, New Hampshire, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 17, 2007, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Biron was born January 29, 1938, in Colebrook, the son of Ernest and Charlotte (Baker) Biron. Mr. Biron was a graduate of Littleton High School in Littleton, MA, and also attended the University of New Hampshire. He began working for his father in 1960 and later owned and operated Biron & Sons Construction Company until 1984. During this period of time, he also worked in the family business at the Colebrook Country Club and the Colebrook House. His interest in construction led to his employment with R. S. Audley Construction as a superintendent and with Arthur Whitcomb, Inc. and Pike Industries as an area manager. He was involved as a Director and Past President of the New Hampshire Good Roads Association and Former Director of Farmers & Traders Bank. He was an avid golfer and was proud to hold the title of Colebrook Country Club Golf Champion. He also loved to play cards and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Biron is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Nancy (Sims) Biron of Colebrook, NH; a son, Mark Biron and wife, Bobbi, of Northborough, MA; two daughters, Rebecca Cooney and husband, Ted, of Trappe, MD, and Kathleen Biron and husband, Jim Scheffler, of Springfield, MA; his mother, Charlotte Biron of Colebrook, NH; nine brothers and sisters, Barbara Dumont and husband, Laurent, of Bath, Ontario, Canada, Shirlee Fissette and husband, Robert, of Colebrook, NH, James Biron and wife, Lynda, of Colebrook, NH, Jean Caird and husband, George, of Colebrook, NH, Mary Pirog and husband, Ron, of Ohio, Judith Ryan and husband, Phil, of Bedford, NH, Michael Biron and wife, Marsha, of Colebrook, NH, Kathleen Brooks and husband, Sydney, of Rochester, NH, and David Biron and wife, Ann, of Willow Street, PA; seven grandchildren, Abigail and Andrew Biron, Aidan, Erin and Maeve Cooney, and Zoe and Rebecca Scheffler; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Biron is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Biron. Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 20, 2007, from 5-8 p.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, July 21st at 11:00 a.m. at the Monadnock Congregational Church with The Reverend Larry Clough and The Reverend Albert Bellefeuille co-officiating. An interment service will follow at the Colebrook Village Cemetery.
