Suzanne C. Wheeler

CANAAN — Suzanne Cecile Wheeler, 82, of Canaan, Vt., passed away on Monday morning, Sept. 9, 2019, at the Coös County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown, NH, after a long period of declining health. She was born in West Stewartstown on Feb. 24, 1937, a daughter to the late Arthur and Rose (Benoit) Lanctot. As a child, Suzanne attended St. Albert’s School. Suzanne was a loving and wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and so proud of her four children. She was a hard worker at her home on Gale Street, as well as working for 28 years at the Beecher Falls Division of Ethan Allen. She loved to go bowling and belonged to the local bowling league at Wayne’s Lanes for years. She loved to travel with her husband, Jack, and she had a passion for playing Bingo and going to Whist parties at St. Albert’s with her family, and she loved to go out to eat at local restaurants. In her later years, she loved her dogs and they were her loving companions and gave her great joy. She was loved by everyone who knew her, and will be greatly missed and in the thoughts and hearts of all her family. She leaves behind four children, Tony Wheeler and his wife Annette of Beecher Falls, Patricia Martel and husband Paul of Jefferson, NH, Cecile Betty and husband Arnold of West Baldwin, Me., and Richard Wheeler partner Ann Guttadauro of Madison, NH; a sister, Theresa Merrill of West Stewartstown; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jack Wheeler in 2016, 10 brothers and 3 sisters. Family and friends are invited to join the family on Saturday, Sept 21, 2019, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. A graveside interment service will immediately follow at St. Brendan’s Catholic Cemetery in Colebrook.
