Waneta Thibeault

RAPID CITY, SD -- Waneta Thibeault, 87, formerly of Beecher Falls, VT, died on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at the Rapid City Regional Hospice House. She was born at home in Pittsburg, NH, a daughter to the late Stewart and Hazel (Danforth) Haynes, and lived in the Northeast Kingdom all of her life until the death of her beloved husband, Gerard, in 2007, when she moved to Rapid City to live with her daughter and husband, Mary and Pete Dowse. She was a member of St. Albert's Church in Stewartstown, NH, and of Blessed Sacrament Church, Rapid City. Waneta worked for more than 20 years at the Jenkins Funeral Home answering telephones and doing housekeeping for her sister and brother-in-law. She loved unconditionally and was devoted to her family and her special cat, Smokey. She was generous with her time, talent and treasure. Waneta is survived by her oldest daughter/youngest sister, Bev (Barry) Jenkins of Colebrook, NH; her children, Mary (Pete) Dowse of Rapid City, SD, and Annie Masters of Pittsburg, NH; her grandchildren, Jeff Dowse of Loveland, CO, and Janice (Jack) Ryan of Tehachapi, CA; her great-grandchildren Sara and Eric Dowse and Adrian, Shayne and Jake Ryan. She is also survived by her sisters Glendowin Bunnell, Rowena Hann and Majel Hawes and her brothers, Keith and Wayne Haynes. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Gerard in 2007; her parents, Stewart and Hazel Haynes; her brothers, Warren and Bradley Haynes; her sister Ramona Bilski and a great-grandchild, Erin Dowse. Calling hours will be at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook, NH on Sunday, August 7, 2011, from 6-8 p.m., with a Requiem Mass the following day at 10 a.m., celebrated by The Rev. Craig Cheney at St. Albert's Church. An interment service will follow at the Colebrook Village Cemetery.
